Grocery list by aisle template
A list sorted by aisle saves time and money: you walk the store once and buy less on impulse.
The template
| Section | Items | Est. cost |
|---|---|---|
| Produce | ||
| Meat & seafood | ||
| Dairy & eggs | ||
| Bakery | ||
| Canned & dry | ||
| Frozen | ||
| Household & other | ||
| Total |
How to use it
- Plan your dinners first (here's how).
- Go through each recipe and put every ingredient in its section.
- Combine repeats (two recipes using onions = one line).
- Cross off what you already have.
- Add a rough price and total it against your budget.
Tips
- Order the sections to match your store. Most start with produce and end with frozen.
- Keep a running pantry list on the fridge for staples you run out of.
- Shop with the list only. If it isn't on the list, it waits for next week.
